Jestha Developer Terms
2026-05-28-pre-legal-reviewEffective date: to be set on final reviewThese Developer Terms (“Terms”) are the agreement between you (“Developer,” “you”) and Jestha (“we,” “our”) that governs your access to and use of the Jestha API, API keys, webhooks, and any related developer tools (together, the “API”).
By generating an API key, ticking the acceptance checkbox, or otherwise using the API, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
2. Your Jestha account
3. Acceptable use
When you use the API, you agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, hateful, sexually exploitative of minors, harassing, deceptive, spammy, or otherwise violates Jestha's Community Guidelines.
- Use the API to impersonate any person or organization, or to misrepresent who is operating an account.
- Use the API to harvest data about Jestha users beyond what the API explicitly returns.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, media constraints, scope restrictions, or any other technical control we put in place.
- Use the API in ways that materially degrade Jestha service for other users (including denial-of-service attacks, scraping at volume, or repeatedly hammering endpoints).
- Re-sell API access to third parties without our written agreement.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Jestha service.
- Distribute malware, phishing links, or other harmful payloads through the API.
4. Content
You are responsible for all content posted via your API keys, including content posted on behalf of your end users. You represent that you have the rights and consents necessary to post that content. The same Jestha Community Guidelines and content policies that apply to direct posts apply to posts made through the API.
When your application posts on behalf of a user, you must clearly inform that user that the content is being published to their Jestha account.
5. Rate limits, quotas, and constraints
6. Moderation and suspension
We may, at our sole discretion:
- Remove content posted via the API that violates our policies.
- Suspend or revoke any API key that we reasonably believe is being misused, has been compromised, or is generating moderator-actioned content at a rate that suggests systemic abuse.
- Suspend or terminate any account, including all of its API keys, for repeated or severe violations of these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
Where we can, we will notify you before taking action; in cases of urgent abuse or security risk we may act first and notify after.
7. Attribution
8. Privacy and user data
Your use of the API is subject to Jestha's Privacy Policy. When the API returns data about other Jestha users, you may use that data only for the purpose of operating your integration with the bound account, and you must handle it in line with applicable privacy laws.
You may not transfer Jestha user data to third parties except as strictly necessary to operate your integration, and only with the informed consent of the user where required.
9. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Jestha service, brand, and API. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the API solely for the purpose of building and operating an integration with the bound account.
You retain rights in the content you and your end users post. By posting content via the API, you grant Jestha the same content license you would grant by posting directly, as described in the Jestha Terms of Service.
