Child Safety Standards
Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation
Child Safety Standards
Effective date: May 28, 2026
1. Zero-Tolerance Policy
Jestha strictly prohibits child sexual abuse material (CSAM), the sexualization of minors, grooming, sextortion, and any other content or conduct that endangers children. Violators will have their content removed and accounts permanently terminated, and the activity will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
2. Minimum Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use Jestha. We may use signals such as account information, behavioral indicators, and reports from the community to identify accounts that appear to belong to underage users, and we remove such accounts when discovered.
3. Prevention and Detection
We work to prevent CSAE on Jestha through a combination of:
- Human review of content reported by our community
- Account-level enforcement when users violate these standards
- Restrictions on certain features and discoverability for accounts that may be operated by minors
We are actively expanding our trust and safety tooling, including evaluation of automated CSAM detection systems and behavioral signals for grooming and solicitation.
4. In-App Reporting
Every Jes post, comment, JesClip, and profile on Jestha can be reported directly from the app, with a dedicated "Child safety" reason. Reports flagged as child safety are routed to a priority queue and reviewed by our trust and safety team as quickly as possible. Users do not need an account to submit a report through our contact channels listed below.
5. Action on Violations
When we identify CSAE content or behavior, we:
- Remove the offending content immediately
- Terminate the responsible account(s)
- Preserve relevant data as required by law
- Report the incident to the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau and, where a child may be at risk, Child Helpline Nepal (1098), and cooperate with international bodies such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable
6. Compliance with Law
Jestha is based in Nepal and complies with all applicable Nepali laws regarding child safety, including the Act Relating to Children, 2075 (2018) and the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 (2008). Where relevant to our users, we also observe international standards, including U.S. federal reporting requirements under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. We cooperate with law enforcement requests submitted through proper legal channels.
7. Designated Point of Contact
For questions about our child safety standards or to report CSAE-related concerns, contact our designated point of contact:
